Aligarh Defence Corridor
- A Defence Corridor worth INR 20,000 Crore was announced by Gol in February 2018 at UP Investors Summit.
- The corridor will be developed in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh and is estimated to create over one lakh job opportunities.
- The proposed corridor will have 6 nodes, viz. Aligarh, Agra, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Kanpur and Lucknow. Nearly 3000 hectares of land will be notified by the State Govt in the Bundelkhand region for the proposed corridor
- The Department of Defence Production has laid out a target to achieve a turnover of Rs.1,75,000 crores (USD 25 Bn) in Aerospace and Defence Goods & Services by 2025.
